"35" MFA Film Wins Best of Festival at Dayton Independent Film Festival

淫妻社 is pleased to announce that “35,” a film produced by Creative Producing alum Eseoghene Obrimah MFA ’20 and Maggie Zhu, Cinema Directing alum MFA ’20, has won the Best of Festival Student Award at the Dayton Independent Film Festival.
The film follows a Black transwoman (Freyhja Ravencroft) who finds herself on a nightmarish quest through a mysterious government agency to reach her next birthday. Obrimah has said of the film, “'35' helped cultivate my storytelling and producing skills. I learned how to truly collaborate while standing up for my ideas and while telling an important story about the violence people perpetrate against Black transwomen.”
“35” has also been selected to be screened at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, the Jozi Film Festival in South Africa, the Scottish Queer Film Festival, and the Dayton Independent Film Festival.
