If you were previously enrolled at Columbia and paused your studies for two or more semesters (not counting Summer), then you're considered a returning student.
If you have paused your studies for only a spring or fall term, you are considered an active student and you can register for classes when registration opens. We are currently accepting appointmens for students intending to return for the Fall 2026 term.
You will meet with Holly Herrera, Associate Provost for Transfer Initiatives and Academic Partnerships. This appointment will help you begin the process of returning to Columbia.
During your meeting with Holly, you may discuss:

Overview of your academic history and next steps.

Degree progress and updated graduation requirements.

Any transfer credit or coursework completed elsewhere.
