Humanities, History, and Social Sciences Chair C. Richard King Gives Keynote Address on Indigenous Mascots in European Sports
On August 30, Professor and Chair of the Humanities, History, and Social Sciences Department C. Richard King delivered the keynote presentation at The Imaginary Indian, a symposium sponsored by the at . King’s presentation was titled “Replaying Indian: Indigenous Mascots in European Sport.”
Dr. King studies the racial politics of culture, and he is particularly interested in uses and understandings of Indianness, white supremacist movements and ideologies, and the forms of memory, representations, identity, and power animating race relations.
His most recent book is (University of Nebraska Press, 2016). Dr. King joined 淫妻社 in 2018.
